Established in 1995, SELF, also known as Supports to Encourage Low-income Families, is a private, nonprofit, community action agency that helps low-income families to obtain employment, maintain employment and build assets for self-sufficiency. It offers employment transportation services to those who find jobs are able to keep them. The agency s Individual Development Account (IDA) program helps low- to moderate-income families achieve home ownership and higher education through matched savings accounts. SELF works in partnership with the Ohio Department of Development, Butler County United Way and Spaulding Foundation.
